Hot and Healthy – Thriving Through Menopause One Pound at a Time – Day 17 (2/27/2024)
Hubby had a test this morning, so we took care of that and then I came home to get some work done.
My friend T said I should try Yoga. I did add that before I started logging every single thing I do, but I am going back to the one routine I did before, to see if I still like it, and if it is worth recommending. From Yoga With Adriene:

My muscles feel worked after that. So easy and simple plus the time goes by so quickly! I will look for others but for a beginner, this yoga class was amazing, and I will use this routine again.
I have never tried Pilates, but I should at least try it to see what it is like. Maybe after I pick hubby up I a bit.
Had my yogurt and protein shake for breakfast. Have some papaya around for a snack later. Don’t forget to drink LOTS of water if you are following me on this journey.
I skipped Pilates and did a weight workout instead because, well, that is just what I felt like doing. I have done a HASfit video workout before and like their workouts. It is easy to follow along, and while I cannot do push up shoulder taps, I do a modification using the arm of my couch. You can find the workout here:

The 30 minutes goes by super quickly and it’s enjoyable. I wore my Bala Bangles and got the extra burn. I think you’ll enjoy it a lot. I had a second protein shake. I should have 3 a day...working towards it.
Let’s talk about food. Not only eating for Menopause but eating for health and to lose weight. So, we have realized starving ourselves no longer works the way it used to and honestly, I get hungry. Having realized I do not get NEARLY enough protein, that may be why I always seem starving. I log all my food into the Loseit!app and don’t tell y’all everything I eat, unless you want me to. It may seem like I AM starving myself, but I am not. I ate and drank 1189 calories today; my budget is 1416 calories.
Here is what the internet says:
Protein fuels you. It's one of three sources of calories, along with carbs and fats. If you want to eat a lot of the time even though you have regular meals, you may need more protein. Studies have found that eating foods with protein helps you feel fuller throughout the day.
Hence less snacking.
The second protein shake kept me full, so I skipped dinner. If I am not hungry, I can’t eat. The HCG hormone doesn’t help, and I have windows of time during the day where I can and cannot eat. My morning yogurt sits for 20 minutes before I can work up to eat it. I hate the nausea. Having been bulimic as a kid for 6 years, puking on purpose, it is not something I like doing.
So that was my day, not much to report.
Let’s see what tomorrow brings!!
