Hot and Healthy – Thriving Through Menopause One Pound at a Time – Day 23 to Day 30 (3/11/24)
I’ve been sick. Sunday night we brought back the moped, Monday morning I was down and out. Today is Monday, Day 30 and I should have done a weigh in but did not for various reasons. One being that the results will be skewed. When your throat hurts, you don’t eat, and I don’t want to get excited about a number that is not real. Let life get back to normal and I’ll weigh in next Friday.
It’s fat I am fighting, not water weight.
I am still keeping a log on my Loseit! App, but have not been wearing the Fitbit because it annoys me, like everything else when I am sick.
Mostly all I am taking in is Throat Comfort teas and soup. I made my own chicken noodle, and it is delicious with MUCH less salt than store brands.
There is no exercise planned for today as I do not think I can handle it. My runny nose and cough would create too many disruptions for anything to be worth it.
I’ll workout when I can breathe again. No, this was not covid nor RSV, it’s just a cold but ever since I was a kid, whenever I had the simplest of colds, I got a cough that would last...and last. The doctors at the time always said bronchitis.
My idiot father screamed at me to control it. I never could.
Typically, I do not catch colds from going out as I rarely meet with people. It’s the husband, who is in the sales and service industry, that brings home these damn things. Avoiding him is easy but just when we think the cold is gone, and we kiss again, I get the cold.
I’m tired of tea. I’m tired of soup. I’m tired of being home all day. The weather isn’t cooperating anyway. It’s just boredom and the deep desire for a steak. And lobster bisque. Both horrible for me and fattening, and in my heart, I know I won’t have them, but I can dream.
It’s really difficult to stop working out when you have been at it daily for three weeks and I really want to work out. One feels better after workouts. Personally, I had fewer hot flashes. I slept better. I just felt better in general.
So, I will be putting a pause on this blog/video series for a few days until I am better enough to make it through a simple yoga class.
Until then, I will be going back to my Menopause Blog and writing about more interesting stuff I have found out, want to disprove, etc.
