Hot and Healthy – Thriving Through Menopause One Pound at a Time – Day 31 to Day 32 (3/13/24)

This cold is still hanging out in my lungs and preventing me from working out. It’s sad that I am losing all the momentum I had for this, but I will get it back.

When it comes to my lungs, I don’t mess around. At age 11 I had walking pneumonia. I got it again when I was about 19. There was another bout in my 30’s and then H1N1 when hubby and I took a flight to LA back in about 2008 or 2009.

Pushing myself only leads to bad things so I am taking my time with this illness and allowing myself to fully heal, or it could cause a major setback in my life that I don’t have time for. I do have time to take care of myself and I am going to.

The bonus is that I do think about exercising everyday and I want to get back to it but not at the risk of getting pneumonia again.

I’ve also been bad with food. I had extra servings of booze that I should not have had and had steak for the last 2 nights. Other than that, I am keeping with the program. I still drink my protein shakes once or twice a day, I’m taking my fiber tablets and still eating yogurt for breakfast.

Sleeping is tough because in order not to cough all night, I sleep “sitting” in bed. Propped up by a few pillows. The cough still wakes me up in the middle of the night though.

Throat Comfort Tea by Yogi has made my cough more tolerable, and I highly recommend it when you are sick.

I don’t write much when I am not well, but I am trying.

Please let this be gone by next week.
