Hot and Healthy – Thriving Through Menopause One Pound at a Time – Day 62-64, April 12- April 14, 2024

On Friday, I weighed in at 124.20 pounds and I am thrilled. I am 2 months and 3 days into this whole routine, and I have lost 5.8 pounds.

It’s working. I’m not missing out on anything. I feel better. Little to Zero dairy. Red meat only twice a month. Protein shakes twice a day. Fruit as a snack.

Not since I was a teenager have I even thought about my actual measurements. Now I am. That is what started all of this. I could not grasp my right wrist with my thumb and middle finger and have them touch, and I had always been able to do this. Like...ALWAYS. This pissed me off. So I measured myself today. And while I should have done it when I started this, I really didn’t want to see the numbers. Whatever.

Today I measured my:

Calves - 12.5

Thighs - 19

Boobs - 38 (eeks)

Waist - 33

Butt – 36

These numbers need to go down and they will if I continue to lose this excess weight the correct way: Diet and exercise. There are no shortcuts.

So I will check in with these numbers in another month and we’ll see how it goes.

Listen, I write a lot of stuff and I say I am going to do a bunch of stuff. Like post my calendar of workouts and my meals and I just don’t. The bonus is that this is my blog, and I can do what I want but it doesn’t help you any. Sorry about that. If you really want to see something, let me know. If you want to chat, call the Hotline, I would love to listen to you. Otherwise, spending my life on this computer is the last thing I want to do, so as Spring and Summer get here, you will see me on here less and less but no matter what, at the very least, a weekly update will be posted...or if I find anything cool, I think you should see or read about.

Since I don’t have a lot to say, I will express that everything I recommend with this program, I use, eat, or drink. So here is a list of everything I recommend with links:

It was great to get to the beach this week and swim, but now the rain is back, and I am off to exercise. Here is what I have done in workouts since the last check in and what I will be doing today. Also, add 20 minutes of physical therapy which is very Pilates like, and I count it as such. It’s leg lifts and bridges. Same as Yoga and Pilates.

This last one was hard. I have upped the amount of my dumbbells as well, adding one pound to each size so I am at the max. I was doing 4 pound weights, now I am up to 5 pound weights. I will keep with those for a month and then decide if I need another set for the next level.

You cannot remain stagnant with your exercise. It must be mixed up. The routine, the weights, whether you add Bala Bangles or not. It is important for your body to move in all sorts of positions so get out there and mix it up.

There are all sorts of new workouts out there: HITT, LISS, Pilates, Yoga, Aerobic Steps, Dumbbells, Dancing, Barre, Ballet, Stretches....

I like working out about an hour a day, broken into 2 sessions and doing a good 30 minutes of vigorous exercise and then another 30 minutes of either Pilates, Stretching or Yoga. Sometimes I do it all at once, sometimes I don’t.

You can also do two 15 minute vigorous workouts, or three 10 minute ones if you really like changing it up. And working on one body part a day, like some do, seems weird to me so I work everything, in some way, each time.

Catch up soon!
