Hot and Healthy – Thriving Through Menopause One Pound at a Time – Day 78, April 28, 2024
I think I should expand on my blog from yesterday. Breaking from your routine is hard. When you are in menopause, routine is everything.
When guests come, you eat out more, you eat and drink things you shouldn’t, sleep patterns are disrupted, and this will have an effect on you. It has an effect on me.
So, I didn’t exercise when I should have, I missed a few PT sessions, (I do them at home), I snuck in a honey corn dog. This kind of stuff messes me up in so many ways.
It also made me a bit lazier. The thought that runs through my head is, like, well, “I’m down 6 pounds and feel good, do I really need to lose more?” The answer is yes. I need to keep this up forever and while I may miss a few days here and there, but I need to stick with this for life. It’s not so much the weight loss, it is about feeling good about myself.
My husband always asks me why I walk so fast. It is because I still can.
I also don’t want to fall apart at 60 or 70. I don’t want to be the broken hip person and I need this body to last at least until I cross a few more bucket list items off my agenda.
That means keeping to a routine no matter how hard it may be, but don’t berate yourself if you miss a day or two. I mean you will, but don’t be SO hard on yourself, otherwise staying healthy becomes a chore instead of a desire to make yourself physically healthier.
I love growwithjo and did two of their routines yesterday with my PT.

Stay healthy!
PS: If you are ever on Oahu, go to The Corn Dog Company in Kahuka (near the North Shore). You won’t be disappointed.
