Hot and Healthy – Thriving Through Menopause One Pound at a Time – Day 72 - 77, April 22-27, 2024

Weigh in day was Tuesday and I clocked in at a solid 124. Not bad. Slow and steady wins the race, though I am disappointed I didn’t lose more. I think the last weigh in put me at 124.2. I don’t remember and won’t go back to look. I know I started at 130 so anything less than that is amazing in my book. So, onward.

The funk is over. I wrote about it. Got it out of my system. Then new friends came to town.

This blog is about altering your routine. The timing is perfect.

So, hubby and I are in therapy, and it brought up some stuff for me as you may have read, and I went into a funk for a few days then slowly started coming out of it. Then...my friend Allan passed away last November, and his ex was coming to town with a girlfriend, and I thought it would be cool to give ole Allan a toast, so Hubby and I went and met them for drinks. Well, we got along famously and spent more time together while they were here, hence the altering of the routine.

Menopause has forced me into this. It seems the only way for me to stay sane because altering my routine can be physically painful.

My bodies regularly scheduled morning sabbatical gets thrown into chaos. That is the worst part. Sometimes by the end of the day, I am so incredibly bloated it hurts. If I keep to a routine, I don’t have this issue. Sometimes though, you get forced to alter the daily regime, if you want to go out and enjoy life.

It got worse after my bout with colitis caused by an antibiotic. Boy, did it get worse. I can feel every “movement” through my body even when it’s not quite ready. I think the colitis made me more sensitive.

Along with added protein in my diet, included are 2 fiber pills every morning...just to keep things moving. I think it is helping.

What happens when you travel?

When you have visitors, how does your routine get messed up?

How do you cope?

How much does altering your routine affect you and in what ways?

Let me know...

Here are the exercise routines I have done beside PT. I have had to lower my dumbbell weights due to the inflammation in my right hand but other than that, these have been fun.

While I didn’t work out that much, I got a lot of walking in with the girls when they were here.
