Hot and Healthy – Thriving Through Menopause One Pound at a Time – Day 15 (2/25/2024)

Happy Sunday Everyone

I’m not sure I like the new Aptos font, but we’ll see how it goes. Times New Roman was my favorite.

My posts will always be one day behind. You want to see it all right?

I got about 7 hours sleep before outside noises woke me up. Breakfast has been had. I like Forager Project Organic Probiotic Cashewmilk Yogurt. Jeez...such a long name. It’s not as thick as Greek yogurt which I am not fond of and since I am staying away from dairy as much as possible, I am up to trying different products. This one is quite good.

So, telling myself I will start exercising by 9am was fruitless as it is almost 10 and I have not started yet but that is next. I thought about starting with weights but a cool cardio for beginners came up I don’t think I have tried yet, so I am going to tackle that.

You may be asking how I have so much time to work out. A few years back, my income was high enough hubby could “retire” and pursue his dreams and he did for a few years. Then we moved and bought a foreclosure, so he had to take up working again. In my 40 plus year career (s), I have never had more than 14 days off at once, so hubby gave me some time to “retire” as well. I still work, though quite infrequently, and I have a non-profit that is ramping up.

Ok..10:06. I am going to put on my Bala Bangles for the extra calorie loss and set up to start my workout with Brian Syuki. Watch it here:

Ok, that was a good workout. I needed to do modification, again and keeping up with his speed is not something I can do without injury. The workout keeps your heart rate up and makes you sweat while toning and building muscle.

It’s almost 2pm. I’ve made headway with work; the house is relatively clean. A friend is supposed to land here today sometime but who knows when I will see her. My body feels tired. I have not had a workout break day since Tuesday. I really want to do weights but since my earlier workout but a bit high intensity for me, I am going to look for simple toning and strengthening exercises, maybe with light weights. I really like the idea of 60 minutes per day, at least, but “experts” say to space the workouts. But does that mean If I only worked out for 30 minutes, I still need to wait 4-6 hours to workout again. Or is the advice based on a one hour workout? Sometimes, my workout is only 15 minutes.

Seriously, and this is about everything on the internet:

You can ALWAYS find the answer you want to find, but it’s much harder to find the answer you need to find.

And since everything is sponsored by or paid for by or we get a commission from...who do you believe? I have had several personal trainers over the years, both gym sponsored and not, and they each tell you something different. You need to do what is in your heart. Mine is telling me that 3 small to medium workouts per day, along with diet modification, will get me my results by September. What is your heart telling you?

My first workout today was 30 minutes. My second will be 30 minutes and I will be using weights.

Off I go.

Well, Juice & Toya do not disappoint for a workout. This was my second time using their YouTube videos and I love the way they structure the workouts.

I made a vegan taco salad for dinner and had another 1/2 of a protein shake. Got the booze to 5 ounces. I’m going to hold that number for a week and then go down another ounce. I need to make the brownies with less calories although it’s pretty low now. Trying other sugars. We’ll see.

Have a good night. We’re at this again tomorrow. xoxo

You can find all the videos I workout to on my YouTube Channel.
